To establish a workshop and an international exhibition to be held in the month of Ramadan each year. The artistic stimulus for this forum is light, so that all artistic work becomes free expressions of what light means to the artist through new and contemporary presentations. The Forum would be a platform for displaying contemporary artistic impressions and expressions through the medium of light- delight through light.

The Aim of the Forum

Is to bring artists together to work creatively with the medium of light, a form of expression associated with the holy month of Ramadan which is traditionally celebrated with lights and lanterns since Ottoman times. Popular celebrations in Egypt are characterized by the use of light-light everywhere, lanterns, candles and strings of lights in alleys and cafes. Ramadan nights , in particular, are a fascinating display of various shapes and rhythms of light. Light Form is a forum for all the artists of the world. The medium of light is, itself, a symbol of the importance of cultural exchange, of being receptive and open to the other: it is the illumination of hopes for peace and understanding among different cultures and religions, as opposed to the darkness of war and intolerance. In fact, this openness was an important factor contributing to the flourishing of Islamic civilization in the past.
